2019

Credit Agricole S.A. and Banco Santander announce the closure of the strategic integration of CACEIS and Santander Securities Services in order to create a global leader.

By virtue of the agreements signed, CACEIS owns 100% of Santander Securities Services Spain and 49.99% of the operations in Latin America (Brazil, Mexico and Colombia). As a consequence, Crédit Agricole S.A. and Santander hold 69.5% and 30.5%, respectively, of CACEIS.

2018

Banco S3 CACEIS México begins operations

Banco S3 CACEIS México commences its activity with all the bank licenses and approvals to provide custody and settlement services.

2017

Constitution of SC Colombia

In August 2017, the Trust Company Santander CACEIS Colombia S.A. was formed, under Colombian law, with a great projection of entering the Securities market and becoming one of the most important Custodians in Colombia for local and foreign investors.

2014

Creation of specialized business units

Creation of Santander Securities Services (S3) as an integrated front-to-back specialized business unit to provide depositary, custody and settlement services to institutional customers, and creation of Santander Fund Administration, S.A.U (SFA) to provide fund administration services.

2010

Enhancements in Poland and Brazil

Santander acquires BZW in Poland and extends its service network. In Brazil, it structures a DTVM vehicle exclusively dedicated to the administration, custody and supervision of CIS.

2004

Increased offering to custody customers

Santander began to offer ancillary services and access to international fund platforms to its custody customers as part of an integrated offer.

2003

Technological renewal

Santander renews its technological platform with complete SWIFT communication.

2001

Start of the fund administration service in Brazil

Santander introduced fund administration services for domestic customers in Brazil using the web as a communication channel.

2000

Strengthening in Portugal

Santander acquires Banco Totta e Açores in Portugal, bolstering its presence and business offering in the country.

1997

Consolidation in Latin America

The service network was consolidated in 7 Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.

1994

Start of wholesale business in Mexico

Santander began wholesale business operations in Mexico, including custody and settlement services.

1986

Royal Legislative Decree on Foreign Investment in Spain

Royal Legislative Decree 1265/1986, of 27 June, on foreign investment in Spain, is published. Santander started to offer settlement and custody services in Spain to foreign institutional customers.
